Join us on Tuesday, July 28, for an evening of music with La Nuit des violoncelles, an exceptional event conceived by the Carmignac Foundation in collaboration with Talents & Violon'celles.

Conceived to complement the “Sea, Pop & Sun” exhibition, this concert invites you to immerse yourself in the richness and mystery of the cello’s sounds, echoing the energy, freedom, and vibrancy of the pop spirit.
Cello8, a cello octet led by Raphaël Pidoux and bringing together talented young musicians playing exceptional instruments, invites you to delve into the depth and mystery of the cello’s sounds. An internationally renowned cellist and member of the Trio Wanderer, as well as artistic director and founding vice president of the Talents & Violon’celles endowment fund in 2010, Raphaël Pidoux—who also founded the cello octet Cello8 in 2021—explains: “In an eight-piece ensemble, the theme passes from one instrument to another, creating movement and giving the sound a sense of space.”

Raphaël Pidoux is accompanied by seven young cellists playing masterfully crafted instruments on loan from Talents & Violon’celles, with the support of its patrons.

Talents & Violon’celles: so that every talented musician can play an instrument that fits them perfectly
Recognizing that purchasing a high-quality instrument can be an unaffordable investment for a musician, the Talents & Violon’celles Endowment Fund supports talented musicians by lending them an instrument that will enable them to reach their full potential: to continue their studies under the best possible conditions, compete in international competitions, and launch or advance their careers.
Through its work, Talents & Violon’celles showcases instrumental and musical heritage and maintains a collection of instruments representing the pinnacle of lutherie.
Thanks to the support of private and institutional patrons, Talents & Violon’celles currently manages a collection of over 145 string quartet instruments (violins, violas and cellos) and early music instruments (tenor viola da gamba, bass violin, bass viola, soprano viola, etc.), 39 of which were commissioned by the organisation, in addition to the three currently being made.
The project’s uniqueness lies in its alignment with three converging goals: heritage, social, and cultural. These three components, shared among talented musicians, artisans, and donors, are a source of excellence.
