Guided tours, reception and mediation

During the week, school audiences will be welcomed free of charge upon reservation of a visit accompanied by workshops.

Located in the Var, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, Southern France, the 7-kilometer-long, 3-kilometer-wide Porquerolles Island is part of the Hyères municipality and of the Port-Cros National Park.

It is accessible by boat (a 15-minute crossing) and can be visited by foot or on bicycle. The site is at 680 steps from the port and the village, and 260 steps from the beach.

The Fondation is located in the Courtade plain, a 10-minute walk from the Port and village.

Preparations

Come with soft-soled shoes to visit the gardens.Upon entering the building, visitors will be asked to take off their shoes. The exhibitions are visited bare-foot.
The Fondation Carmignac is located on a protected site, rich of various rare and fragile plant species.
We ask our visitors to comply with the Port-Cros National Park’s regulations and in particular the prohibition of smoking, littering, picnicking and picking plants.

How to get here

Motorized vehicles are not allowed on the island of Porquerolles.

Access by boat from the ports of Tour Fondue, Hyères and Londe.

PORT OF LA TOUR FONDUE

Traffic : during the summer, if you intend to arrive between 9 am and midday and/or to leave between 5 pm and 7 pm, we advise you to consider using another port (see our recommendations below).

At other times, traffic is fluid.
