Programme

Wednesday 22 - 5.30pm

Portrait de Vincent Peirani par Jesus Pretel

Vincent Peirani Solo. One of Vincent Peirani’s talents is to take you by the hand without you realizing it, to give you access to the mysteries of music. He is what we call grace.

We all remember that wonderful duet with the Brazilian guitarist Yamandu Costa which took place under the fig tree of Fort Sainte Agathe which became that evening, not the palaver tree, but the music tree.

Hearing Vincent Peirani in solo doesn’t mean he’s playing alone! From the very first notes we realise that he is talking to all of us.

July 23 - 8am

Portrait de Ronnie Lynn Patterson Solo

Ronnie Lynn Patterson Solo. Before this screening, and to accompany us until the last light of the sun, there will be the talented American pianist Ronnie Lynn Patterson. He was already there at the first edition of the festival in 2002 and was scheduled to open for Archie Shepp at Fort Sainte Agathe this summer.

Affiche du film « Changer le monde », de Franck Cassenti

« Changer le Monde », a Franck Cassenti movie. It was on the occasion of a memorable concert given at the “Jazz à Porquerolles” festival in homage to Martin Luther King that the film originated – “I have a dream! “and takes place in a kind of musical journey through time and space.

An initiatory journey with two voices, that of the filmmaker and that of Archie Shepp, the giant of African-American music, to meet musicians, women and men who have at heart the dream of Martin Luther King who gave his life to “change the world”.
